How to edit SEO metadata

Course.link features SEO data for both the website and each individual course.

Add SEO data for Course Website

First let's see how to add SEO metadata for your course website. Log in to your course.link dashboard and click on the Settings tab. Click on the title SEO and you will find the SEO settings for your course website.

Click 'Upload'

Inside the SEO settings you can change:

  • Meta Title - This is a concise and accurate depiction of what your course website does. This is also the text that appears on your web browser tab. We recommend a length of 60 characters for meta title.

  • Meta Description - This is the text shown in search engine results. Keep it descriptive and attractive to the searcher. Ideally it can have a length of 160 characters.

  • Favicon - This is the icon associated with your course website. It will be displayed in the address bar of a browser accessing your site or next to the site name in a user's list of bookmarks. The standard size for a favicon is 16x16 pixels, however we recommend 32x32 pixels to accommodate retina screens.

  • Meta Image - This is the image shown when your help.center URL is shared. Recommended dimensions for meta image is 1200x630 px.

Add SEO data for each Course

For each individual course, you can also add SEO data. To add or edit SEO data for a particular course, navigate to the Courses tab, select the desired course, and click on SEO to access the SEO settings.

Click 'Settings'

Inside the SEO settings you can change:

  • Course URL Path - The URL path is a significant element in SEO. It should be concise, descriptive, and include keywords relevant to your course content. A well-crafted URL path can improve the chances of your course being found in search results and can make the URL easier for potential learners to remember.

  • Meta title - The meta title is a brief summary of your course displayed in search engine results. It should accurately describe your course within 60 characters to ensure visibility in search results. Include relevant keywords to improve discoverability. An effective meta title can greatly increase the click-through rate to your course page.

  • Meta description - The meta description provides a brief overview of your course and is displayed under the meta title in search results. Keep it under 160 characters to avoid truncation in search results. Make it engaging and informative, with a clear call to action.

  • Thumbnail - Upload a thumbnail image to represent your course. Recommended aspect ratio is 16:9.
